Networking with Purpose
At UFCU, we’re here to make change, and we know that the more we work together with others, the more we all can achieve. Great partnerships often start with a connection and a chance to learn how one person can help another.
We love learning about the good work that our Members and neighbors do. Our Southpark Meadows branch recently hosted a “Mission Mixer,” a networking opportunity for area nonprofits and businesses. Joining us for a fun and meaningful evening were representatives from Saint Louise House, who empower women and their children to overcome homelessness and achieve a lifetime of self-sufficiency; Greater Austin Black Chamber of Commerce, who develop and promote Black economic success in the Austin-area; Foundation Communities, who create affordable housing communities with on-site health, financial stability, and education services; and more.
Our guests enjoyed delicious refreshments by Austin Catering. And several UFCU business Members contributed to the festive atmosphere, including DJ Motivate, who provided music, Brio Photography, who captured professional headshots, and Charles Quinn Photography, who captured many moments of camaraderie.
“We are grateful for the support and partnership from so many people and organizations that help make change for the better. It was fun to get together and share ideas,” said Heather McKissick, executive vice president of community impact, communications, and marketing. “UFCU loves fostering a supportive environment that helps us all do more good in our communities.”
Better access to education, jobs, and affordable housing is the cornerstone of the impact UFCU strives to make in our communities. The more we get to know others who bring their unique talents to similar goals, the more of a difference we can all make.
