UFCU Ranked #1 Austin Mortgage Producer

Austin, November 5, 2018 — University Federal Credit Union continues to garner community recognition for its mortgage lending programs. The latest “best of” ranking comes from the Austin Business Journal, which recently named UFCU Austin’s top mortgage company for the third consecutive year.

UFCU, Austin’s largest locally-owned financial institution, led the Journal’s annual list of Top Mortgage Companies with a total of 2,303 Austin-area mortgages closed in 2017. Total Austin mortgage loan volume exceeded $662 million.

The ranking comes on the heels of the Austin American Statesman’s recent “Best of the Best Awards” in which more than 250,000 Austinites gave UFCU three top honors: Best Mortgage Lender, Best Credit Union, and Best Bank. 

The 2018 Austin Business Journal Book of Lists ranks mortgage companies by the number of 2017 residential mortgages closed for the Austin-area. UFCU surpassed not only all Austin-area residential lenders in the ranking, but also is the only credit union listed among the top five.

Combined with loans made outside the Austin-area, UFCU closed nearly 2,870 mortgage loans last year for a total residential mortgage volume of $818,192,604.

Driving the industry-leading performance is a team of seasoned mortgage loan officers, five of whom are among the area’s Top 25 mortgage producers in the region.  All combined, 18 UFCU mortgage producers are among Austin’s Top 100 producers in the study.
