UFCU Sponsored T-shirt Contest Supports Dell Children's Hospital Nurses

Four-year-old Khloe Vital of Leander was honored January 17 as the winner of a Dell Children’s Medical Center T-shirt contest. The design competition was conducted as part of the Child Life Department’s art therapy project for hospitalized kids, and her winning design will be worn by the hospital nurses on specially designated days.

Khloe models the t-shirt she designedKhloe was accompanied by her parents, her sister and her brother for the ceremonies in Dell Children’s Hospital, where she had been a patient. Her winning “I Heart Nurses” design received the most votes by nurses from among seven total entries.

University Federal Credit Union (UFCU) produced 1,000 of the T-shirts for distribution to Dell Children’s nurses and staff members.  The credit union also awarded Khloe a $100 gift certificate to Toys “R” Us and a Family Package gift certificate to Chuck E. Cheese’s, which she and her family enjoyed at lunch following the hospital reception.

In addition to Khloe and her family, reception participants included Dr. Mark Shen, Dell Children’s president, and Deb Brown, the chief operating officer. They were joined by Sheila Wojcik, UFCU Senior Vice President Communication & Corporate Affairs, Scott Derber, UFCU Business Development Senior Manger, and Monica Andry, UFCU Business Development Manager.
