UFCU Expanding Service in Galveston County

Galveston, TEXAS — January 30, 2015 — Coming in 2015, University Federal Credit Union (UFCU) announces the opening of its second location in Galveston County. The Victory Lakes Interactive Financial Center located at 2500 S Gulf Freeway, League City off of IH-45 eliminates the barriers that separate members from UFCU representatives ensuring a more personal experience.

The planned new Victory Lakes location, just off IH-45, will provide an accessible mainland location for UFCU members, who have been served by the credit union’s offices on Galveston Island since 1982.

UFCU Executive Vice President Yung Tran was joined by UFCU Vice President Retail Operations Aaron Persons, Galveston Regional Manager Jill Kaiser, UFCU Board Member Dr. David Niesel, and a University of Texas Medical Branch official in “turning dirt” to initiate the construction process on the additional location on January 26, 2015.

“We are thrilled to begin construction of this facility so that we can expand our accessibility to meet member needs in this area, and we look forward to opening the new branch this coming summer,” said Kaiser, who has managed UFCU’s Galveston County operations since 2003.

At Victory Lakes, UFCU members will be able to choose the style of service they need, whether quickly accessing cash or making a deposit through the financial kiosks; applying for a loan at the online center; or talking to a UFCU representative to guide members through life events such as purchasing a vehicle, buying their first home, retirement, or otherwise meeting all their financial needs.

The Victory Lakes location will include 4,800 square feet of space in a retail configuration, plus 24/7 drive-thru ATMs.  The office will provide financial planning, investment, insurance, and mortgage services for individuals; lending and other services for businesses; and a self-serve coin-counting machine.

"Our members' well-being is at the heart of everything we do and opening this new location is just one more way we can deliver convenience and accessibility to Galveston County members," said Tony Budet, President and CEO of UFCU.

UFCU’s 15 proprietary financial centers are complemented by over 5,000 shared credit union branches across the U.S. where UFCU members have access to services.
