UFCU CEO Tony Budet Elected 2022 Board Chairman of CUNA
Austin, TEXAS, March 2, 2022 — An Austin executive will now be leading a major national trade association as its Board Chairman. Credit Union National Association (CUNA), the leading trade group for credit unions in the United States, has elected UFCU CEO Tony Budet as its 2022 Board Chairman. Budet officially opened his term this week with a keynote address at CUNA’s National Government Affairs Conference in Washington, D.C.
“Tony is a community leader and steadfast advocate who knows the importance of ensuring credit unions remain relevant to our members and future members,” said CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle. “We’re excited to have him leading the CUNA Board of Directors as credit unions continue to look for innovative ways to serve our members through the economic recovery and beyond.”
“The substantive impact credit unions have on the quality of life, on financial health, and in our communities is a compelling story that must be told in D.C. and our state capitals. I am deeply honored to chair the CUNA Board and look forward to collaborating with my CUNA Board colleagues, the fine CUNA team, Leagues, and, of course, credit unions to continue advancing our movement," said Budet. "It's a privilege to represent UFCU and Austin in this national leadership role, and thank you to credit unions across the country for this opportunity to serve our industry, our mission, and credit union members everywhere."
